Joyciety
Joyciety www.joyciety.com Joyciety is a book about the formation of a more cheerful society and happier personality. Joyciety is a vision of what we will become and how we will transform the world, about who will be the winners and who will be the losers. In this book I examine changes in people’s perceptions and values, and cite examples about which changes society, states and business should be ready for. In my observations of society and people, I have noticed that we have once again – among other things – begun to value emotions in place of things, to seek truly unconditional love and freedom; that we once again wish to communicate with people, not organisations; that we are focusing greater attention on our own satisfaction than the opinions of others. At the same time, these developments mean considerable changes to employers, the receipt of taxes, bureaucratic agencies and all other systems. The developed world is struggling in the clutches of stress, spending money on things, experiencing joy only at the moment when an object is acquired. Youth is followed by a midlife crisis, which in turn amplifies the need to buy things. Middle-age is followed by old-age, where things are replaced by waiting for the younger generation to come and visit. Joyciety talks about how to replace the stress and routine with a cheerful and happy everyday life, regardless of age and wealth. Joyciety talks about what we can transform our society and states into, if we know what we want. Joyciety’s thoughts conjure ideas within the reader, about how to actually improve the world without struggle, war and conflict. About the Author: Peeter Wõrk is a man, who graduated cum laude from the Tallinn University of Technology, with a degree in systems engineering. In life, he has seen the world’s colourful differences and the deaths and births of systems. Peeter was born in the Soviet Union. He witnessed its collapse – via the singing revolution – and the construction of new states from scratch. After completing the military service in Russia, he found himself in a liberal arts college in the United States – where the students were mostly the beautiful daughters of rich families. Almost penniless, he travelled across the United States during school holidays. He found his way into a Time Magazine photo, and gave interviews to TV stations, radio stations and magazines in the United States. He later worked in Canada and became one of the first two Estonian management consultants at global leader McKinsey & Co. For most of his life, Peeter has worked as a management consultant and consulted many organisations through his company PW Partners, focusing, first and foremost, on the managing of changes. His job has also taken him to places such as Belarus and Ukraine. Being an active communicator, Peeter has exchanged ideas with many different types of people and shaken hands with the President of the United States as well as the President of Estonia. Peeter is the president of Kiwanis Club Tallinn and an honorary member of Junior Chamber International. He has always loved sports and being active, having participated in track and field, judo, ballroom dancing, orienteering and basketball. Peeter has always considered himself to be an observer, someone who sees and notices. He can be reached at pw@pwp.com
